Cruises on the Hudson are a Summertime thrill that we look forward to every year. The warm breeze and scenic landscape have become a familiar and cherished indulgence. One our favorite ways to cruise is with Classic Harbor Line. Their well-managed fleet always provides a fun, safe experience. Their most luxurious vessels are the Manhattan and Manhattan II. Each yacht is designed with classic details, featuring a bright interior lounge below as well as a magnificent outer deck with seating. Last year we spent a full day on their cruise to Poughkeepsie. This year we decided to try their Bear Mountain excursion. The Bear Mountain cruise begins at pier 62 in Chelsea, from there it’s a three-hour cruise to Bear Mountain State Park. The ship docks for three full hours at the park before heading back to Chelsea.

Making date night plans can be hard. More often than not we find ourselves wanting something more interesting than the basic dinner and a movie. This is especially true if you and your partner have been together for a while. Don’t end up in a date night rut. Instead, plan a romantic sunset sail and a meal with Harbor Line Cruises and Craven Restaurant (Formerly Magnolia Restaurant).
Sail to the Williamsburg Bridge and Statue of Liberty on Classic Harbor Line
A visit to New York City is not complete until you have a chance to cruise the Hudson River. There are many options in this city for river cruises. However, if you prefer elegant and intimate experiences than the excursions offered by Classic Harbor Line are for you.
Discovering Wine and Cheese with Classic Harbor Line
Cruising along the Hudson is one of the things we look forward to every spring. The view of the infamous NYC skyline and the tranquility of sailing is an experience that never gets old. A few weeks ago we upgraded our usual cruise, with a wine and cheese pairing class aboard Classic Harbor Line‘s Manhattan II. This particular cruise is about 2 hours long and features wines from all over the world paired with artisan cheeses all presented by Wendy Crispell, a certified wine and cheese educator.
Explore Hudson River Valley with Classic Harbor Line
The season of good weather is coming to a close for New Yorkers. Soon we’ll be trading our flip flops for boots and complaining about the bracing cold. Luckily there are a few weeks of decent weather left to take advantage of. Over the next few weeks, you can make the most of the time we have left by cruising down the picturesque Hudson River Valley with Classic Harbor Line. We took a relaxing cruise up the Hudson River with Classic Harbor Line for their inaugural sail. We were on their chic and retro Manhattan Yacht. This Great Gatsby inspired vessel took us for a long leisurely trip from Manhattan to Poughkeepsie, NY. The voyage is a 4.5-hour excursion straight to Upstate NY, followed by a 3-hour self-guided tour of Poughkeepsie and then a sunset dinner cruise.
Yacht Manhattan II: Perfect for an Evening on the Water
The time has finally come to pack away our legwarmers and work on our sea legs. Boating season has commenced and the various piers around the city are full of great opportunities to enjoy the warmer weather on the water. We took the season’s inaugural voyage last week aboard the Yacht Manhattan II one of Classic Harbor Line newest vessels. The ship is docked at the gorgeous pier 62 of Chelsea Piers. The Yacht Manhattan II also hosted our last voyage of 2015, which was a weekend brunch cruise. This time, we chose the sunset Yacht Cruise, a 1.75-hour cruise through the Hudson and east river.
Sunday Brunching with Yacht Manhattan
Brunch is a weekly event all across NYC. Every weekend, hungry diners enter the growing plethora of eateries in search of good food and a relaxing atmosphere. This weekend we ditched the usual places and enjoyed a grand brunch with the Classic Harbor line. We enjoyed our meal sailing on the Hudson, aboard one of their elegant yachts. We boarded the “Yacht Manhattan II”, one of two vessels inspired by the roaring ’20s. We met our vessel at Chelsea Piers along with an assortment of other guests and set sail on a gorgeous Sunday morning.
