Music superstar and renowned dancer, choreographer, and TV personality Paula Abdul performed at Northwell Health’s fifth annual Summer Hamptons Evening (SHE), which raised $1 million for the Katz Institute for Women’s Health. The event was held in Water Mill, NY, at the residence of Victoria Moran-Furman, who hosted alongside presenting sponsors Iris and Saul Katz, the benefactors of Northwell’s Katz Institute, Eric Moran, and celebrity event planner Larry Scott of Lawrence Scott Events.
My Dad is my hero. He also happens to be a Veteran who served in the Navy during the Vietnam War, which makes supporting foundations like Operation Warrior Shield even more special to me. Operation Warrior Shield is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, whose primary mission is to provide comprehensive support programs for service members, veterans, and first responders, with a focus on “Healing Their Hidden Wounds” through no-cost holistic wellness services. No matter the age, type of service, or years of service, it is imperative that veterans, first responders, and their families receive the help they need for wounds both visible and within.
On Wednesday, September 21, 2022, the Lang Lang & Friends Gala Concert and Dinner returned to New York City. Founded in 2008 by Lang Lang, the Lang Lang International Music Foundation (LLIMF) strives to educate, inspire, and motivate the next generation of music lovers and performers. Their unique programs encourage music performance at all levels as a means of social and emotional development for today’s youth. By igniting a child’s passion for music, the foundation is helping children worldwide aim for a better future.
Now that New York is getting back to some kind of normalcy, more than 300 guests carefully gathered at the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation’s Hamptons Happening. One of our favorite charitable events we were happy to return to. The popular annual charity food and wine event was back in a big way and raised more than $400,000 towards cancer research. The 17th annual event was a celebration of health and wellness, and the culmination of The Global Walk to Flatten the Cancer Curve with SWCRF partner, Walk with a Doc. Committee members Maria Fishel and Kenneth Fishel hosted the magical evening at their beautiful estate in Bridgehampton.
The American Foundation of Savoy Orders Youth Program Chairman Joseph B. Giminaro, and the Young Friends Steering Committee of Save Venice led by philanthropist and activist Lizzie Asher, hosted a joint cocktail reception in honor of H.R.H. Prince Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia, Prince of Venice. The cocktail reception was held to raise awareness of conservation efforts in Venice following the extreme floods (acque alte) that devastated Venice in November. The invitation-only event took place at 10 Corso Como, 200 Front Street, South Street Seaport, New York City. Prince Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia is head of the Council of the Savoy Dynastic Orders.
This has been a busy week for Kelly Killoren Bensimon and Foodbank4NYC. Kelly, who is now a part of the Holly Parker Team for Douglas Elliman helped give out 2000 turkeys donated by Stop and Shop at the Foodbank4NYC pantry. On Tuesday, October 22, our friends at the enCourage Kids Foundation hosted their Serving Up Smiles premier tasting event with over 300 plus guests at Current in Chelsea Piers. The event combined philanthropy and good food as chefs from all over the city provided food and beverage and guests bid on spectacular items via silent auction. The tasting included dishes from some of the tri-state area’s finest restaurants. Some of the best dishes of the evening included sumptuous Sea scallops and slow-braised short ribs crostini from Ocean Prime, Meatballs with whipped ricotta from Lavo, Lobster Rolls from lamia’s Fish Market, and Ribeye and Mac n Cheese from Ben & Jack’s Steakhouse. It was definitely the place to be for delicious food.
Over the weekend, on Saturday, August 5th, Stony Brook Southampton Hospital held its 61st Annual Summer Party. The party took place on a field inside a huge luxury tent located in Southampton. The evening included cocktails, dinner, and dancing to benefit the Jenny and John Paulson Emergency Department, which is South Fork’s only emergency care facility, treating more than 25,000 people annually. This is one of the biggest and best fundraisers each year. The Stony Brook Southampton Hospital event has raised an impressive $1.5M+ in 2018 and $100M+ over the past 60 years.
