Check Out One of NYC’s Best Kept Secrets, Hidden Lane

by xoJohn

Last week, for the first time, I stopped by Hidden Lane, located in the Gramercy area of New York City. I was very excited to check out this hidden gem. On the evening of my visit, Hidden Lane hosted an intimate Winter Cocktail Soiree. Fitting and much needed for such a chilly evening. Although Hidden Lane is known for serving up specialty cocktails, on this night guests got to indulge in pizza and meatless meatballs from Zazzy’s Pizza in addition to chocolate-covered doughnuts and cookies from Innocent Yesterday on the Upper East Side. The pepperoni pizza was my favorite by the way.

Clinton Hall Debuts New Fall Menu

by xoJohn

Location: 16 West 36th Street, New York, NY 10018

Cuisine: American

Cost: $$

Overall: A laid back restaurant where you can have a night out that feels as relaxing as staying in. The perfect place to take your game night to more interesting heights.

Summer is officially over, but don’t fret, the fun doesn’t have to end. Bring good times indoors with our friends at Clinton Hall. Since their official launch in 2013, we’ve visited several of their locations and we’ve never had a bad time. The family-friendly bar and restaurant are known for its playful atmosphere, extensive beer list and delicious menu of comfort food favorites. Clinton Hall’s main purpose is to get people together. To further their mission each establishment has communal tables, shareable snacks and a collection of popular board and card games. If you stop by the 36th Street location you may even get the chance to try your luck at Drag Bingo!

We’re happy to report the return of one of Brooklyn’s hottest spots, The Springs, which is located in the Greenpoint section of the popular borough. This is the spot soak up the sun, chill, and sip on delicious frozen cocktails. The Springs not only has an outdoor space but an expansive bar and lounge. On the night of our visit, we enjoyed the newly renovated patio. This area was inspired by retro vibes of Palm Springs circa the 1950s with lounge style seating and rainbow-colored decor. Although inspiration comes from the west coast, the vibes of The Springs remains true to Brooklyn and its edginess.

Clinton Hall 36 Opens

by xoJohn

Our friends at The Lure Group have opened another Clinton Hall location in Midtown. The 7,000 square foot venue spans two floors and has a capacity for 450 guests, making it their largest location to date. I personally loved the lounge-style vibe of the new location. As you first enter, you can’t help but notice massive floor to ceiling mural by artist Tristan Eaton. There’s also the ability to play a Word Search game on one of the walls in the venue or a giant game of upright Chess. Like their other locations, Clinton Hall 36 has all of your favorite games like Oversized Uno, Giant Jenga, Connect 4 and other nostalgic classics.
