Tucked away in a second floor Soho loft, guests were pleasantly surprised when they entered a sleek salon appropriately decorated with images from Sophie’s portfolio. Sophie chose some of her favorite photos from past fashion shoots such as Alice + Olivia, Gilded Age, Clandestine Industries, and ALIOMI, an emerging fashion line for which she is the in-house photographer.As the daughter of prominent fashion photographer Arthur Elgort, who was beaming with paternal pride, it was no surprise that several of fashions most influential came out to support Sophie and celebrate Sophie Elgort Studio.
Rather than making it a typical gallery viewing where patrons whisper and sip wine and cheese, everyone enjoyed ‘Photogenictinis’ and ‘The Flash’ cocktails sponsored by Sobieski Vodka, Hint Water, and munched on Tawny Ong Cupcakes and Popchips. Guests were also treated to tracks by DJ Sprung who spun classic tunes all night.

Beautifully shot and acted, it still found its detractors.
