Each year it doesn’t seem possible. How can TV Personality Josh McBride continue to curate an over-the-top birthday bash that stands out amongst New York Fashion Week events? Well, he did it again, throwing a birthday extravaganza filled with star-studded performances and New York City as its backdrop. Held “in the sky” at celebrity hotspot Somewhere Nowhere, the room was electric with over 400 invited guests ready to celebrate Josh. The theme was black and red, with guests arriving in their Thursday best ready to party.
Talent and friends came to throw down Happy Birthday vibes! On the scene were Chris Redd (Saturday Night Live), Sherri Shepherd, Que Mosley ( MTV’s Making the Band Day 26), Justina Valentine, (Wild N Out), Derek Warburton (TV personality), Kariselle Snow (Netflix Perfect Match), Dia Simms (CEO Lobos 1707), Lisa Evers (FOX 5 NY), Joelle Garguilo (NY Live/Today Show) and Sameer Qureshi (owners of Somewhere Nowhere) and more.
As soon as partygoers exited the elevator into the nightclub, they were transported to a sea of red and flowers dripping from the ceiling. The music was powered by DJ Nyce and everyone was treated to a bevy of cocktails courtesy of LOBOS 1707 and Ten To One Rum. Delectable sweets were provided by Baked By Melissa, with the mini cupcakes spelling out the birthday boy’s name. The combination of premium spirits and iconic desserts set the tone for a night of luxury, indulgence, and unforgettable moments.
Surprise performances by incredible singers have become a trick up Josh’s sleeve each year. First to take the stage was new-to-the-scene music artist Tyler Bragoli, being hailed as the next Justin Beiber. He sang two original songs L.Y.L.Y.S and Star Baby. Next to follow was WanMor, sons of Boyz II Men’s Wanya Morris, who led a Happy Birthday ballad to Josh and also performed a few of their new songs.
Up next was Grammy Award Winning Mya who set the room on fire as soon as she stepped on stage. Her soulful melodies and insane vocals were the ultimate nostalgia. An impromptu performance from red-hot rapper and star of VH1’s Wild N Out Justina Valentine had the crowd going crazy for her song Mouth Go Crazy. When Aubrey O’Day (Danity Kane) took the stage, it wasn’t just her bombshell outfit that captivated the audience. Her voice was just as good as when she first came onto the scene in Making the Band.
Just when everyone thought the party was ending, rap legend Ja Rule ended the night with his hottest hits including, New York, Always on Time, and Livin’ It Up. His iconic voice rocked the room with everyone hanging onto every lyric.
Each artist’s personality shined on the stage, as did Josh’s stunning red tux as he was pulled up to give a beautiful speech in celebration of his birthday. Cheers!
