“Last year, I spent some time in Rome and Barcelona, as well as the Dominican Republic. It was very much an adventure,” says Darhel Anthony. “The color and spirit of the trips are conveyed through my collection.” Darhel draws inspiration from nature with its natural gifts to fashion in the form of textiles, contrasted sharply with contemporary architecture. He believes that elegance is found within simplicity, and that design should be a man’s attempt to find eternity by creating timeless works.
Born in California and raised in New Jersey, Darhel knew from an early age that he was gifted creatively. Nevertheless, he earned a degree in business finance before he was inspired to move into the fashion world. In a failed attempt to find the perfect bowtie, Darhel combined his creativity and business acumen in a flash of genius to establish his very own bowtie company. With meticulous studying and years of hands on experience, he became a self-educated neckwear artisan.
Now in only his third quarter at The Art Institute of New York City, Darhel presents a tailored men’s and women’s collection that uses an arsenal of artisanal skills not often found west of London’s Saville Row!
