Brian Wolk and Claude Morais, creative directors of Ruffian presented their Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall 2013 collection, “Reverie,” reminiscent of a Sherlock Holmes mystery. The pieces evoked Baskerville style with fur lined hats, rich detailing with long sweeping skirts, opulent embroidery and a “street savvy constituency,” realized by the Campus, Harness and Engineer boots from the Frye Company for Ruffian.

Notable looks included a gold Ibra jacquard Baskerville blazer paired with grey men’s shirting blouse and midi skirt; jet bead Minnie mini skirt and silk coromandel Chelsea blouse with a black damask Elizabeth Jacket and black Barathea Mayfair Trouser; a water snake clutch with green Ibra jacquard Elizabeth Jacket and another white men’s shirting Roebling Blouse with a midi skirt; and a leather Charlotte dress complemented by a navy men’s shirting Roebling blouse.
The collection was united by the tassels on the back of various garments and clutches, and touches of very fall colors- navy, black and greys – while also keeping color with standouts of purple, metallic, gold and florals. Ruffian embodied English tailoring in every garment while maintaining feminine, ethereal silhouettes with masculine blouses and boots to give the collection the very “vice and proactive” feeling of the Bowery.
