Foundation President and CEO Peter Wilderotter addressed the crowd and introduced Matthew Reeves, Champions Committee member, and son of the late great actor and philanthropist Chris Reeves whose – along with his loving wife Dana – passionate and tireless efforts made curing spinal injury one of the most promising fields in research. Other Co-Chairs include Francesco Clark, Casandra Liggin, and Elisa Lipsky-Karasz. As the night continued, guests had the opportunity to bid on luxurious items.
Parachute musicians Kit French, Johnny Stubblefield, Will Anderson, Alex Hargrave and Nate McFarland rocked out and gave a rousing ending to the night as guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and beverages sponsored by Tequila Avion and Heineken. Overall, it was a great night and we were so honored to be a part of it.

About The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation:
The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation’s roots stretch back to 1982 when the American Paralysis Association was formed by a group of people that refused to accept the prevailing notion that the spinal cord, once injured, could not be repaired. The founders of the American Paralysis Association had an unwavering belief that researchers and neuroscientists, working together, would find a way to connect and regenerate the damaged nerves and cells that result in paralysis. Started as a community response to a crisis that has quickly grown into a national movement, the early pioneers who started this Foundation began the work at a time when spinal cord research was considered the graveyard of neurobiology.
Christopher Reeve sought out the organization following his injury in 1995. As Christopher said, “I have always been a crusader for causes I believe in. This time, the cause found me.” Christopher shared the American Paralysis Association’s belief in a cure and lent his name, passion and drive to the organization which ultimately became known as the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation. The Foundation is dedicated to curing spinal cord injury by funding innovative research, and improving the quality of life for people living with paralysis through grants, information and advocacy. It is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization designated by the Internal Revenue Code and all contributions made to it are fully tax-deductible.
