Rafeal Cennamo creations have been seen on Taylor Swift, Eve Longoria, Jada Pinkett –Smith and “Smash” star Debra Messing to name a few. His designs are eye-catching and elegant just on the edge of over the top without going over.
For his Rafeal Cennamo Spring/Summer 2013 collection the designer looked to the Far East. “I was inspired by Japanese culture,” Cennamo said at his presentation. The designer used hand embroidery to represent traditional cherry blossoms and created a kimono shape with metal obi belts. “I wanted a mix of soft and structure.”
The color palette was luscious pastels and metallic. A particular standout was a grey metal satin cocktail dress with black embellishments and architecturally layered skirt. I wonder which lucky starlet will be wearing this come awards season.
