The new Perry Ellis guy is a traveler who dons smartly constructed yet weightless designs rich with natural tones in the new 2012 Spring Collection. John Crocco wanted an American Safari in a painted desert and the flow of the pieces was skewed toward an aesthetic that will give men an international yet superior feel as they walk on the streets, make a statement at that event or traipse through the airports next spring.
It was so refreshing to see garments that will feel as comfortable and easy as they looked on the models’ form. It was an effortless combining of hues like oatmeal and vanilla, desert sage and iron ore on linen and cotton that will appeal easily to Perry fans and certainly welcome new fans additionally. Early standouts included the natural linen blend safari suit, the coated linen pea coat as well as the cotton cable vee with khaki and cotton/nylon seersucker trunk. I literally sat straight as I observed the stone cotton windbreaker with the chintz linen Bermuda and the natural linen blend summer sport coat with the white trim henley and plaid Bermuda.
The kind of Perry guy that I am will sport the linen blend pinstripe safari suit, the Stillwater linen/cotton popover with the trunk, and the iron ore plaid traveler with that white cotton slim jean. My evenings would see me in the black chintz linen the black suit, the helium herringbone suit with that cardigan and that white linen/cotton double layer Henley and the amazing seersucker white sport coat. And it will follow that I must have every pair of pants in this collection.
