Lovage Rooftop presented guests a beautiful backdrop with stunning views of the Manhattan skyline, while they were enjoying Cocktails & Hors d’Oeuvres. The event was sponsored by plush, premier dental practice Central Park South Dental, and fine jewelry brand Plukka.

“The HeLa Project” Private Reception
Who: HBO and The HeLa Project
What: HBO officially launched “The HeLa Project,” a culturally-grounded, multi-media exhibition inspired by the highly anticipated HBO film, THE IMMORTAL LIFE OF HENRIETTA LACKS, starring Oprah Winfrey and Rose Byrne. Directed by George C. Wolfe, the film is based on Rebecca Skloot’s critically acclaimed New York Times bestseller of the same name. In attendance for the opening night were two-time Caldecott Honor Award-winning artist Kadir Nelson and Harlem-based artist Lewis Long who both had original works on exhibit. Also in attendance were Grammy nominated artist Jazmine Sullivan who recorded a moving rendition of “Motherless Children Have a Hard Time” for the film and exhibit and Saul Williams who wrote an original poem. The room was filled with artists, creatives, and influencers who were engulfed in an interactive, educational, and engaging experience.

AT&T & Tribeca Luncheon for Untold Stories Program

What: AT&T and Tribeca celebrated the launch of their new film initiative, AT&T Presents: Untold Stories: An Inclusive Film Program in Collaboration with Tribeca. The luncheon was held to honor inclusivity in filmmaking and spotlight the five emerging filmmakers selected for the program. Faraday Okoro was announced as the first ever recipient of the $1 million dollars in funding to create his film, along with mentorship from seasoned industry professionals and guaranteed distribution from AT&T, including DIRECTV NOW.
