“The Lucky Rice-Vietnamese coffee infused with Jose Cuervo Traditional tequila and house-made Chinese five-spice horchata. Presented by Bar Pleiades this tasty little concoction smells of tequila but has the mild lightly sweet flavor of an iced coffee.
“Hoarfrost”- Yamazaki 12 year whisky, calamansi juice, grapefruit and ginger syrup, orange bitters, ramp leaves served by the creative minds of Momofuku this drink packs a wallop.
“91st Chamber”– Yamazaki 12 year whisky, elderflower, Campari, vermouth, orange bitters. Not to be outdone Fatty ‘Cue served up this tasty concoction guaranteed to put hair on your chest!
“Spring Fever”- Bulldog Gin, Yamamomo Berry, and Yuzu Juice. A scarily delish cocktail presented by wd-50 with the flavor of a bubbly Hawaiian Punch.
“Don’t Call Me Ginger”- Jose Cuervo Platino Tequila, Yuzu Juice, and Ginger Syrup. Served up by Freeman’s this drink packs the punch of tequila with the smooth finish of a ginger ale.
“Madam’s Rhubarb Lemongrass”– Bulldog Gin, Homemade Preserves, and Lemongrass. Madame Geneva‘s created this interesting cocktail, served with a spoon(for the preserves) this beverage reminded us of a refreshing pink lemonade a perfect spring/summer cocktail.
“Bokbunja Martini”. Kissui Vodka, Bokbunja, Lychee Juice, Cherry Liqueur, and Pomegranate. By Third Floor Café, this Martini is undoubtedly one of the best I’ve tasted. may never have another mere apple martini.
“White Cosmopolitan”- Kissui vodka, St-Germain, white cranberry juice, and lime. Easily the Belle of the Ball this eye-catching drink had the slightly bitter flavor of Pink grapefruit juice with just a hint of sweetness. Presented in a martini glass with an orchid encased by an orb of ice, the mere sight of it sent curious party goers scrambling over to Daniel’s setup for a peek.
The festival, which is the brainchild of Danielle Chang, an award wining entrepreneur and former CEO of fashion power house Vivienne Tam. It is the first of its kind and heralds the start of a multi city tour as well as a website which launched earlier this year. Supported and often hosted by an assortment of celebrated chefs events will span the remainder of the year and will include several more tasting events and culinary workshops
If you missed Thursday night’s cocktail party don’t fret, Monday May 3, is the start of the festival’s Restaurant week. Over 30 restaurants in the city are participating in the event by offering special Prix- Fixe tasting menus or specially priced plates of their best Asian inspired dishes and cocktails.
