CWST continued the male stronghold on fashion at New York Men’s Day with a spring collection inspired by muted colors and influenced by long textured shadows of the valley floor, rare chalk-like wildflower blooms, and barren salt basins.
The brand took to the Mojave Desert and Death Valley to shed light on the hottest, driest place in North America surprisingly being home to some of the most breathtaking scenery in California – achieving the perfect balance of masculinity.
In a perfect world, I would actually incorporate the entire new collection into my wardrobe. Now that the delusional bliss of daydreaming has passed – some of the standouts look in no particular order include:
White Telescope Tee paired with a Green Stripe Perfect Henley and a Heather Grey Inyo Sweatshirt; Blue Perfect Tank paired with Desert White Gustavo Shirt and a Navy Hooser Trouser; along with a Grey Bora sweatshirt paired with a white Whitney Jacket and Green Nopah Trouser.
If I was forced to choose one favorite look, it would have to be an all-black ensemble – a Tecopa Tee, Shoreline Long Coat and Shoreline Trouser. I know that I’m providing insight on trends for the next spring season, and you’re wondering why my favorite combination is drenched in black. Hey, I’m a transplant New Yorker and we were black!
CWST S/S ‘16 was motivated to bring the hidden elements to light in one of the earth’s most extreme environments. The team accomplished that goal of highlighting the desert with many separates that can easily transition into the urban man’s standard wardrobe.
