Temperley
Guinevere, London’s main line, is an enticing modern collection that incorporates dreamy romanticism with a slight edge. Some of the materials used were: gold, metal beads, hints of armor, wildcat-inspired prints and intarsia knits which was perfectly illustrated in one of my favorite looks – the Araya dress and butterfly harness. Aside from armor inspired aspects the collection fused intricately embroidered tulle, lace, and ribbon that gave the pieces a feminine almost goddess like look and feel. The Trina dress coat, sovereign pouch and quintel waist belt is a classy look that embodied London’s direction.
Temperly London’s younger line, Alice, is a romantic modern day Marie Antoinette inspired collection. The soft romantic shades used with a bold pop take a playful twist on French fashion. Alice, Spring/Summer 2011 collection presents a casual 21st century luxury aesthetic with hand pleated rosettes, dresses graphically decorated with bold metal components and playful bow details. Gauzi maxi dresses like the mini Mirabelle dress and tan leather separates like the Camile leather jacket and Camile skirt add chicness to the silhouette.
Both collections encompass romantic edge-Guinevere with a sleek high luxury combination and Alice with a chic casual luxury inspiration. Temperley London continues to create pieces that enhance femininity while transcending from red carpet to ready-to-wear.
