Simon Spurr‘s Fall 2010 Collection was anything but boring. The former designer to Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren showed his line of mens tailored two piece suits, three piece suits, double breasted coats and leather jackets. All classic, sophisticated pieces but with a modern street twist. I would say that this collection was very much inspired by the two conflicting British youth sub cultures of the early-mid 1960’s, ” Mods and Rockers”. It is apparent that Spurr intertwined those two looks, by having biker inspired jackets made of cotton and a pea-coat made of leather. The Pin Striped two and three piece suits came down the runway accessorized with fedoras giving them a very youthful modern feel, not to mention the bold colors that were used. I really enjoyed Simon Spurr’s show because he showed that fashion for men can be fun and exciting while still maintaining its classic appeal.
