How rare is it to find a clothing artist that can create a garment that is both bold and fearless while delivering wearablity and range? Quite, I say. That is until we were treated to last weeks Loris Diran Fall 2010 viewing held in a the deliciously brick laden hall at Bowery Hotel. Ladies and gentlemen sauntered to a crescendo of techno layered tunes boasting a co-ed collection of perfection. Satin crepe, Chantilly, and tweed pour femme. Cashmere, classic cuts, and skinny ties pour homme. Neutrals and copper for all! There is a strapless lace shift dress in an almost shimmering high silver and a seemingly glazed wool charcoal suit that put me in mind of two powered Wall Street types running downtown to the court house to get married at lunch then for cocktails after 5pm. Ah, one can only dream. A gloved Diran finished the show to a roomful of well earned standing applause.
Congratulations to Loris on another BEAUTIFUL collection. We here at John Simon Daily HEART you!
