GANT was founded by Ukranian immigrant Bernard Gantmache and his sons in 1949. It all started as a family business built around a simple well constructed shirt and has since grown into a major fashion brand. The house of GANT is divided in three distinct sub-brands: GANT Originals, GANT Rugger and GANT Diamond G. All three brands were represented at New York Fashion Week via an eye opening presentation. The inspiration was classic preppy style with a modern edge.
GANT Originals is the most relaxed of the three brands. The inspiration is reminiscent of 90’s Tommy Hilfiger with an homage to sophisticated outdoor activities such as sailing and presented an assortment of items for the active outdoor lifestyle. Beachy short sets and sexy bikinis were shown n classic red white and blue with neutral details. GANT Rugger provides a more contemporary aesthetic with experimental details and unique fabrics. Madras plaids, Pinstripes and relaxed twill are crafted into well-tailored pants and jackets for wearable pieces with artistic flair. GANT Diamond as the name suggests is the more refined of the sub-brands. The look is clean and polished with a subtle nod to Ivy league style tailored blazers and printed skirts
