Ebony,
This collection titled “Queen of the night” was inspired by opulence, mystery and deep intrigue. The pieces play on the contrast of light and dark. Exotic materials like snakeskin and cork leather were used in the pieces as well as sustainable and organic fabrics such as organic merino wool, organic hemp silk, and organic cotton spandex blends. The pieces incorporated intricate geometric shapes and classic draping which was evident in the asymmetrical sculpted bodice dress. With a Victorian spin to the collection, stunning embroideries of scrolls, roses, gardens and rose bead appliqué details were meticulous designed onto the pieces.
Although, we had a sneak preview and interview with the talented designer of Boudoir D’huitres seeing the runway show was simply a breathtaking experience. Key pieces that stood out were the pearl studded skinny pant, high neck exaggerated sleeve blouse with rose bead embroidery, and the bustier gown with tulle and organza layers. Boudoir D’huitres presented Victorian, chic and edgy style in a modern way.
