Once again I had the pleasure of attending the Nicholas K Spring 2012 fashion show at Lincoln Center. And once again the sibling designers left me breathless wanting more. The inspiration for this season was the modern Gypsy which was felt throughout the collection in the airy lightness of the flowy dresses the models strutted down the runway.
This collection showcased foil printed suede jacket, loose draped tiered dresses, sheer silken dresses layered underneath glazed cropped ponchos, mesh leggings, long silk gowns in beautiful palettes in solids & prints, sheer & light tops, cropped capes, asymmetric hemlines. Light weight trench coats & anoraks, long suede shorts. Knotted tops over draped skirts. The looks were topped off with leather platform sandals & fringed leather bracelets. And let’s not forget the beautiful long head scarves wrapped around some of the models head.

The earthy color palette ranged from tonal whites, tan, copper, green, blue, black and grays.
As always Nicholas K combination of different textures, attention to detail and the asymmetrical layered look creates a powerful impression that is always urban chic. My favorite was the blue light & airy long silk gown. Breathless…..
