Our favorite masked man, Ghostface is back with a vengeance! Scream 4, which hits theaters on April 15th stars some familiar faces and some new ones.
The Synopsis: Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), now the author of a self-help book, returns home to Woodsboro on the last stop of her book tour. There she reconnects with Sheriff Dewey (David Arquette) and Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox), who are now married, as well as her cousin Jill (played by Emma Roberts) and her Aunt Kate (Mary McDonnell). Unfortunately Sidney’s appearance also brings about the return of Ghostface, putting Sidney, Gale, and Dewey, along with Jill, her friends, and the whole town of Woodsboro in danger.
The newest installment in the acclaimed franchise that ushered in a new wave of horror in the 1990s is written by series creator Kevin Williamson and directed by suspense master and director of the first trilogy, Wes Craven. The film stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Rory Culkin, Anthony Anderson, Adam Brody, Mary McDonnell, Marley Shelton, Nico Tortorella, Marielle Jaffe, Kristen Bell, Anna Paquin, Lucy Hale, Shenae Grimes, Aimee Teegarden and Brittany Robertson.
I must admit, as a fan of the first three films, I somewhat nervous to see how this one would play out. Would I be disappoint? Could a 4th film ruin the franchise? So many questions went through my head as I sat in the private screening. My anxiety quickly went away as I was hooked within the first 10 minutes of the film. Thanks to the movie gods (lol), I LOVED IT! It was a pleasure to see “Sidney”, “Dewey” and “Gale” back together again. Scream 4 definitely sets the tone for what a scary movie should be. A slew of scary flicks today lack suspense, a concrete plot, and unpredictably. Scream 4 definitely fills that void. With tons of twist and turns, humor and slashings, there is never a dull moment in this film.
Scream 4 is a near-brilliant slasher sequel that stabs new life into the franchise. April 15th is the date! Be There!
