In the future time travel is achieved and instantly outlawed only to be used by gangsters in the cover of night. Mobsters rid the world of thier human waste by employing “Loopers”. Joe (Levitt) is a looper. He lives in the year 2044 and waits daily as thugs in 2072 send targets back in time to meet their fate. Young Joe’s world is rocked when the next body he has to vanquish is his own self… 30 years older (Willis). Older Joe makes a run for it and Young Joe must catch him before he disappears into the past or face dire consequences. This thrilling movie goes beyond the basic time travel conundrums and gives keen insight into the time paradox. Science fiction fans will love the complexity of the scenarios while action buffs will love the amazing fight sequences and gun play. Any one who has seen Levitt knows he looks nothing like Bruce Willis , but thanks to movie majic and some world class make up artistry, Levitt appears to be a young Willis. Though the visual is important Levitt takes it a step further adopting the mannerisms and voice of his elder. Willis is in rare form doing what he does best, blowing stuff up! He is explosive volatile and merciless, fans will love him in this role. Humor and more than a little bit of violence make this a great adult movie, keep the kids at home there are more than a few scenes you will not want to explain. If not for the time travel debates that will like follow a screening, or the thrill of a great action movie see this simply because it is a great story and well worth telling.
Looper opens nationwide September 28th 2012.
