The color palette was predominately muted shades of grey, nudes, and black broken up by hints of pistachio and a flame silk shift dress that was calling my name Metal cuffs reminiscent of “body armor” by Darcy Miro added an extra touch of edginess to the looks and Manolo Blahnik shoes were worn by the models.
It was truly geometry in motion, from cropped jackets, harem pants, leather shorts, and sculpted shoulders. Azrouël’s experimentation with scalpel embroideries and lacerated jersey techniques proved to be sharp yet glamorous. The evening and cocktail looks proved that shapes of the 80’s have resonated over into beautiful silhouettes that will be wearable in Spring 2010.
Primarily due to its bold color, the standout piece for me was the flame silk shantung shift dress. The silhouette was absolutely beautiful and the cutout back oozed sexiness, I fell in love. Overall, the collection offered pieces that were effortless cool yet chic and sexy that could easily take you from day to night.
INSIDE SCOOP: In her third season with Yigal, Makeup artist, Kumi Craig used ZIRH products for the male models in the show. Her goal was to create a fresh, healthy, and detoxed look for the models. Using Zirh under eye cream and the anti-shine mattifying products, she achieved this look.
Kumi first spritzed a sea water solution onto the face to gently clean and tone
ZIRH Refresh (astringent/toner)
ZIRH Restore (under eye cream)
ZIRH Correct (vitamin serum)
ZIRH Platinum Acclimate (to apply if there is shine) ZIRH Platinum Total Recharge (to apply if skin was a bit “lack luster”/dehydrated ZIRH Lip Balm (made with beeswax to really hydrate and replenish lips)
Here is a quick demonstration:
Quick Tips by Kumi Craig
1. Moisturize your skin by using a moisturizer with SPF.
2. Use a eye cream on top of your moisturizer if you want to get rid of unwanted puffiness
