The urbanite goes urbane with Yeohlee‘s latest Fall 2010 offering. Showing just doors down from Mercedes Benz Fashion Week tents, the very celebrated designer let cylinders and Kazimir Malevich’s “Black Circle” inspire this season’s collection as compelling geometric influences rendered wool coats and pants were softened by gauge knits yarns and quirky bursts of dots and plaid. Swing coats, bag dresses, and hand-knit ponchos rounded out the collection. Often deemed “too cerebral” for anyone other than architects and curators (the designer had been quoted as saying “I imagine these clothes being worn in a post-apocalyptic space station by cadets making music with a saw”), Yeohlee has certainly hit notes with her watercolor painted silk shirt dress and short hemmed looks for night. Out of this world.
