Tibi’s 2010 fall collection epitomized the iconic “New York Woman” wardrobe. The styles and concepts made for an amazing show. The pieces were easily transferable, lovable and most of all suitable for the fall season. Opening the show with a lieutenant style coat adorned with artillery suede and chocolate brown leather, really took my breath away (Literally I stopped breathing for 5 seconds). It truly set an asthmatic tone for the rest of the collection. For spring, Tibi designer Amy Smilovic used profound color playfully and vibrantly; for fall color was cleverly strategic and more constructive. The color story contributed majorly to the interconnected nature of the collection. A neutral taupe military chiffon blouse paired with a rich navy gathered silk pant brought masculine elements to a feminine existence. For a hint of luridness and glam, a beautiful sleeveless beaded teal dress was added. Intelligently light grey and charcoal whisper tees were staples in all the strapless and sleeveless looks to define the clothes as fall pieces. This showed Smilovic really wanted this collection to make sense to women; you don’t have to freeze; Layer…Ladies…Layer! New York women especially have such a difficult time discovering authentic clothes; that are as unique and chic as they are proficiently transmittable. As they glided down the runway; I noticed the fresh faced, wispy haired models smiling and having fun. Usually they look terrified or even worse, in pain. Unless they were actresses too, this proved these pieces to be overall stylishly comfortable. Tibi has yet again amazed me with they’re collection!
