Autobiography of a Fashion Designer: Ralph Rucci, which was designed by Matthew Egan, features over 250 pages of color photography taken by Baldomero Fernandez, with narratives behind twenty priceless treasures Rucci has collected in his lifetime and succinct descriptions of Chado Ralph Rucci’s couturier techniques and staff portraits.
According to Bauer and Dean Publishers, Ralph Rucci was chosen to represent the fashion industry because of his unique approach to his trade, which includes his attention to detail and his utmost quality of handcraftsmanship.
Rucci has received significant recognition in recent years for his impact on the fashion world. He was recently honored with his very own star on the Fashion Walk of Fame in New York, and is the subject of a recent documentary, Ralph Rucci: A Designer and His House, which was narrated by Stewart and premiered on the Sundance Channel. In 2007, fashion historian Valerie Steele wrote The Art of Weightlessness, a sumptuously illustrated book exploring the designer’s life and work, published by the Yale University Press.
