I truly loved the Marithé + François Girbaud Spring/Summer 2011 ready-to-wear fashion show held at the spectacular Tuileries Garden in Paris. This line was founded in 1964 by the creative and free-thinking husband and wife team of Francois and Marithe Girbaud. They specialize in casual clothing, especially jeans using unique styling and fabrics for comfort all with a modern twist that makes this line a fave with the celebs. Supermodel, Amber Rose, was in attendance with front row seating of course.
The models walked down the runway with such energy and smiles, posing in excitement and funky stances, some jumping showing their enthusiasm for the vibrant line of Marithé + François Girbaud. There was something for everyone from the preppy styles with a modern twist in hues of bright yellows, vibrant blues, and bold whites. To their separates, little dresses and skirts, still modern but with a very feminine feel. Shorts, jackets, and jeans are done in gearwheel patterns, cogwheels and graphic prints. Military-style jackets with scout emblems and in hunting colors. Their use of Denim that was environmentally friendly laser-treated in bright colors and prints, feather-weight materials, cotton blends with no-constraint stretch make this line very comfortable but chic. The more modern sleek looks were in tones of dark gray, black and blue. And let us not forget the fun shoes and sneakers that finished off all the looks.
Marithé + François Girbaud Spring/Summer 2011 was a fun show to watch that put a huge smile on my face with their creativity. They took simple looks and put them together in different modern ways which allow us all the freedom to express our personality in what they call pleasure-to-wear. Which it truly is…
