New York Moves Magazine held it’s Summer 2010 Cover soiree on Tuesday at the 450 Studio Penthouse loft. Located in NYC’s nouveau trendy Hudson Yards district, this loft is a bright airy duplex with outdoor rooftop space as well as floor to ceiling windows and offered party goers a magnificent view of the city and surrounding areas. The space was kept minimal wit bar style round tables and white couches scattered about the sun-drenched rooms. Guests munched hors doerves and enjoyed Ketel1 cocktails, through out the event.
The party was a celebration for this Summer’s cover girl and hostess Bryce Dallas Howard. Some may remember Bryce from M. Night Shamalans, uber flop lady in the water but most recognize her from one of the biggest movies of the year Twilight, where she plays Victoria. The ginger-haired actress/director/producer was radiant in an adorable vintage dress paired with Kate Spade shoes and must have Chanel bag. The very picture of loveliness as she posed and flirted on the red carpet. Moves is a semi-quarterly mag celebrating New York Lifestyle and fashion. The mag is the brainchild of publisher Mamoonah Ellison who was also on hand to enjoy the nights festivities. The past year has shown the mags evolution into a duo cover format. The format divides the magazine into 2 separate gender-based entities. Bryce shares the summer issue’s cover with fellow actor Giovanni Ribisi.
The party was also attended by the contestants of Moves’ annual “Personal Chef” challenge. The participants of the Personal Chef Challenge were paired in groups of 2, each group containing 1 television anchor and 1 chef. Each duo had to come up with 3 courses in 30 minutes. The proceeds for this contest went to the James Beard Foundation which offers scholarships to culinary school and also sponsored the event. Fox News own Heather Nauert won the top prize! She was partnered with Chef Ed McFarland of Ed’s Lobster Bar in Soho. All in all, a great night filled good food, good company and good deeds, it doesn’t get much better than that.
