This week the Macallan Masters of Photography Series launched the 2012 edition featuring legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz and Scottish actor, Kevin McKidd (Dr. Owen Hunt, Grey’s Anatomy).
The Macallan Masters of Photography series features exclusive collaborations, fusing the art of whiskey making with the artist’s eye of the world of The Macallan. Past editions were by iconic photographers Rankin and Albert Watson. This year, Annie Leibovitz has captured four powerful images of The Macallan moments shot in and around New York City, “warmth and richness are what I tried to bring to the photographs,” Annie Leibovitz commented.
Although shot in New York the shoot was a bit of a home-coming for actor Kevin McKidd who worked at the Macallan Distillery as a teenager. Both artist and muse gave short speeches thanking Macallan for the opportunity to collaborate on the Photography series. Kevin also thanked his parents who also were in attendance
Mad Men costars and new couple Vincent Kartheiser and Alexis Bledel made their first public appearance together at the party they were both glowing as they posed on the red carpet together and sipped cocktails by the red velvet pool table. A Scotch lover and connoisseur in real life, Vincent ordered The Macallan 18 with a splash of water, while Alexis sipped on The Macallan 18 on the rocks.
Other celebrities enjoying the artistic festivities were Stacy Keibler, John Legend and fiancé, Chrissy Teigen, Travie McCoy, frontman of Gym Class Heroes, model Carolyn Murphy and Vanity Fair editor George Wayne.
