The M. Patmos Fall 2012 collection was designed to be multi-functional, “Slow Fashion” pieces to be loved for years to come. Handwork techniques by women artisan collectives in Nepal and Bolivia were combined with zero waste seamless knitting technology to create seasonless year round separates perfect for layering.
The designer of the eponymous collection Marcia Patmos is well known in the fashion industry for her dedication to sustainable materials and working with global artisans. She has said “There is something very special about an item touched by a human hand. Working with artisan communities can help to support multiple families-and even whole villages.” In appreciation of these principles, Marcia Patmos was named winner of the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation in 2011. Past winners include bold names such as Alexander Wang, Derek Lam, Proenza Schouler, Joseph Altuzarra, and Prabal Gurung.
