This season we’ve been captured by the hypnotic made-for-TV movie “Ubu Roi” by Jean-Christophe Averty in 1965. Based on the revolutionary play by Alfred Jarry and considered by many the first sign of modernism, we were taken by its tension between serious and playful, innovative and primitive. And also a sense of alluring repetition that is so relevant right now through the extensive use of gifs and memes. We took the deep red found in the velvet capes of kings and used it in repetitive patterns on our Italian-made fabrics. The sweaters also have signature stitches that are persistently Dadaist and 3D. The collection is still anchored in an effortless and masculine “invisible uniform” that we always strive for.
