Absinthe was a famed alcoholic drink in the late 19th and early 20th century France, however, due in part to its association with bohemian culture, absinthe was opposed by social conservatives and prohibitionists and was banned. Now the prohibition is over after 95 years due to Lucid Absinthe Supériere, the first genuine absinthe made with real Grande Wormwood to be legally available in the US. This mysterious and misunderstood spirit was a favorite of Monet, Van Gogh, and Oscar Wilde.

Lucid is not a bad absinthe but there are certainly better absinthe brands available in the same price range. Try Mansinthe or Duplais for a more genuine absinthe experience.
