Last month, Grey Goose Rising Icons hosted a Jam Session with a endless amount of musicians. Luke James serenaded us with his hit song “I Want You ” and a rendition of Mint Condition’s “Pretty Brown Eyes.” We also enjoyed performances from the talented Marsha Ambrosius, Anthony Hamilton, Goapele, JoiStaRR, Dawn Richard, Mateo, Bilal, Melody Thornton and Gary Clark Jr.
Dawn, formerly of Diddy Dirty Money and Danity Kane, revealed in our exclusive interview that she is no longer on Bad Boy Entertainment. This young rising icon was passionate about sharing the perceptions people tried to place on her career.
“My whole life people told me that I would never make is out of New Orleans, but I did. Then they said I would not make the cut for Puffy’s Making The Band, but I did. Recently people said that I would never make it off of the Bad Boy Entertainment label and now I was just able to break out of contract.” The former Diddy Dirty Money artist is now recording her solo R&B album. She described her upcoming album as having a soulful feel with a few dance tracks.
