Summer in NYC means, open-toed shoes, barbecues, and Holiday Previews. The fashion world by its very nature is one that is always looking forward peering into the not so distant future, seeking out trends and predicting the next big thing. We at JSD were fortunate enough to be invited to the Loft’s Holiday Party Preview. Bloggers and buyers wandered about the party scene munching on hors’doervers (mmmm….Crabcakes) and sipping bottomless flutes of Champagne, whilst taking in the collection. Draped on stark white mannequins and fully accessorized the displays showed a playful more relaxed side to Ann Taylor’s trendy little sister.
Fashion director Alia Ahmed-Yahia was all smiles as she walked through the collection. “This collection is more relaxed than last year’s.” She said, With the economy in turmoil many women look for quality as well a style, opting for items that work in their day to day lives as well as their weekends. This trend did not go unnoticed by Yahia, “Last year was more about the party this year we went for versatility.” They have truly hit their mark as the transition between looks is nearly seamless. From fun and quirky to office-friendly the pieces in this collection have asymmetry that is uncanny. Layers also offered a touch of color or a hint of glamour for everyday style
Many of the looks transition from day to evening with the ease of undoing a button or switching a top. Yahia herself attended the party in a cute pair of shorts paired with a sequin top and blazer with rolled-up sleeves, a super cute on-trend testament to the line’s commitment to chic and affordable clothes. Why settle for one cute outfit, when you can invest in an entire wardrobe of easy chic pieces? Visit our sister site www.Hautediary.com for our favorite looks and suggestions.
