Kevin Leong has been a heavyweight in the fashion world for quite sometime. Apprenticing under Russell Simmons many years ago, he’s now embarked on his own journey and presented his very first collection. Cocktails compliments of Hennessy were passed around as guests waited for his show to start. Guests included Selita Ebanks, DJ Cassidy and O’Neal McKnight.Androgyny, innovation, and durability are all key words that come to mind when his collection came down the dimly lit runway. The collection was full with muted anoraks, ¾ slim leg cargo shorts, jade necklaces, windbreakers, visors, vests and muted color woven button downs. Kevin designed for the HIP HOP meets HAMPTON’s consumer and judging from last night’s reaction, he’s got a bright future.
Highlights include the custom Origami jewelry made with SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS, an Origami crystal-encrusted Samsung Galaxy Tab case, Converse sneakers provided by Jack Purcell and watches donated by G-Shock. Make-up was provided by Janell Geason for Aveda.
