Designer Jenny Packham brought her ready to wear Spring 2011 line to the tents at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York. Packham, is no stranger to fashion having dressed the likes of Beyonce, Blake Lively and Katy Perry among others, but is new to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Her spring collection was inspired by what she calls “the age of debutante balls and magical moonlight parties.” Models strolled the catwalk in a collection consisting of mostly gowns fit for the red carpet in elegant fabrics colored in soft hues of blue, coral and gray. Some pieces were adorned with intricate beading while others were hand-painted. In addition to the gowns, peppered into the collection were high-waisted pants, shorts, blouses and a favorite and likely hard to pull off for the average fashionista: a beaded nude jumpsuit.
Over all Packham’s first showing at Lincoln Center was a lovely success.
