The 14th annual Tribeca Film Festival (TFF) has officially started and the festival’s co-founder, Jane Rosenthal stopped by “Bombay Sapphire Custom Tonic Bar” at the VIP Preview of the Storyscapes Exhibit and Lounge. Merging technology and craft mixology, the one-of-a-kind experience offers attendees the unique opportunity to design their own custom tonic formula based on their emotional and personality profile – all determined through an innovative “Tonic Journey” iPad app.
Moviegoers and Cocktail enthusiast can get in on the action, as the Custom Tonic Bar is free and open to the public and a part of this year’s Storyscapes exhibition at Spring Studios. Bombay Sapphire gin’s North American Brand Ambassador Gary Hayward and Nick Kosevich (Founder of leading flavor science house Bittercube) will guide guests on a personal taste discovery using the exclusive Tonic Journey iPad app. If Jane thinks it’s cool, then so will you.
The experience will explain the history and science behind tonic recipes, the molecular structures of flavors and why they work together. The result will be one-of-a-kind Gin & Tonic formulas tailored to their creators’ palate. Guests will name their tonics and even design and lay out their own bottle labels, all using the Tonic Journey app. Within three weeks, the tonic will be delivered to their homes — enough for 40-45 signature gin and tonics.
