On Thursday, November 2 at the Mondrian Sky Bar in Los Angeles, Bravo’s hit show “Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles” brought together a crowd of stunning brokers, industry executives, and friends to celebrate the new season. We got a sneak peek at the new season, including the introduction of the first female realtor to join the cast, Tracy Tutor Maltas.
The crowdgoers enjoyed the scene at the Sky Bar that was set for guests to soak up the premiere in adirondack style chairs and chaises around the pool, as well as screens set up by the bar – a perfect location given its massive views overlooking Los Angeles, in keeping with the show’s aesthetic.
To introduce the premiere, CEO of Brokerage for the Western Region of Douglas Elliman, Stephen Kotler, welcomed Tracy Tutor Maltas and Josh Altman to give a few remarks prior to the episode airing and very fitting of the premiere in which we find out that he asks the two of them to work together as the top agents to oversee one of the company’s new and a very important listings.
If you didn’t get a chance to check out the premiere episode, highlights include Heather (Josh’s wife) who is pregnant with their first child and Josh balancing all of his work and being daddy-to-be. Tracy is introduced to the show as the top broker by sales volume. Her “get the deal done” instincts have put her at the top of her field and she shows that she is not afraid of any competition, even friendly competition while working together with Josh. Her “tough as nails” style in the premiere episode includes her pricing a Manhattan Beach property – one of Douglas Elliman’s new and important listings – at just under $19 million, and in the process spending nearly $20,000 on an open house to leave all guests with a lasting impression St. Tropez style.
Josh Flagg gets a deal in Benedict Canyon through his father who is representing buyer friends while they are out of the country. His fiancee is now also part of his team. Josh’s challenge on the property is getting full ask of over $8 million dollars as the property that sat on the market for a year and the noise pollution in the area has been a turn off for other prospective buyers.
Madison Hildebrand’s house is being renovated in Malibu and after a series of unfortunate events last season (he got in a car accident and his jaw was broken). He says that business is better than ever as is his personal life and we are introduced to his new boyfriend. He also gets a seller to re-list with him after they had previously canceled.
James is mostly interested in the premiere in trying to settle “the beef” with Madison on the canceled deal that they had previously co-listed. He confronts Madison after contacting the seller directly to determine how Madison got the listing back exclusively, trying to get him to fess up to the fact that he lied about having a buyer (and had just shown the property only a few days prior in an open house).
As always, there is sure to be sales, sales and more sales for these top realtors turning these million dollar deals perfectly served up of course with a bit of drama, in true Bravo style. Tune in weekly on Thursdays at 9 pm ET on Bravo.
We’ll also be bringing you some exclusive tidbits about the season from Josh and Tracy soon – stay tuned!
