We had the opportunity to check out the exclusive GBK Pre-Grammy Awards Luxury Lounge on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at The Auto Gallery’s McLaren Beverly Hills held the weekend of the Grammy Awards. We loved the feel of the lounge being hosted this year in The Auto Gallery (which houses McLaren and Maserati and its family of dealerships throughout LA), which provided a much-needed respite for the long days and nights of Grammy parties and afterparties. The extensive showroom provided the lounge’s attendees even more of an exclusive feel, ensconced by Maseratis and Porsches on the floor and with space that made everything feel super relaxed, yet upscale.
The brands that really caught our eye?
Minki Lashes: Minki Lashes are eco-friendly Siberian mink lashes that are entirely cruelty-free and natural looking. Minki lashes are reusable up to 25 times compared to traditional, synthetic lashes, so they’re great if you need to be glam on the go and ready for a red carpet, or simply to dress up your going out look. Minki was kind enough to gift us with a pair of their most popular seller, the “Royal Flirt”; the lash types are all hashtagged with their super cute names indicative of their shape as well. I had the opportunity to wear the “Royal Flirt” to a Grammy’s After Party the next day and they were easy to apply and stayed on comfortably all night long, even into the wee hours.
Luseta Beauty: Luseta’s Argan Oil “Ultimate Gold” Hair Care set is not only beautifully packaged, but chock full of vitamins, proteins, and antioxidants, argan oil and leaves hair moisturized, shiny. What we love best is the products are free of sulfates, phosphates, and parabens which make the products safe to use on both normal and color-treated hair (perfect for my platinum!). The Argan “Ultimate Gold” set includes Argan Oil Shampoo, Argan Oil Conditioner, Argan Oil Hair Repair Serum and Argan Oil Hair Masque.
GuiltySoles: I’m always a sucker for shoes, and especially can’t resist GuiltySoles’ mission of providing high quality, fashion forward footwear at a “guilt free” price tag. The brand had also recently partnered with Rue21 for the lounge, bringing together style from head to toe. We received the “Rocky” wedge and we love its comfortability as “a wedge with edge,” as the wedge keeps the shoe comfortable, but the pleather and lace up details and zip up back give it its edge. And I rocked the “Rocky” for the rest of my Grammy weekend parties!
Rosewill Inc.: This tech company’s headphone game brand is aptly named for its premium Prelude headphones handcrafted from natural beech wood and made with pressure-relieving memory foam ear cushions for comfort to provide an added warm to the sound quality. I was blown away by the powerful bass response and quality in these headphones that can also easily fold up for travel or be ready to rock the dance floor if you’re DJ’ing as the headphones offer Swivel Ear Cups.
SoundBot: SoundBot’s portable 3D Bluetooth Wireless Premium Portable Speakers with HD Drivers add a studio surround sound quality in their purse, murse, or as a park or beach companion as they travel light yet deliver exhilarating high definition sound quality.
American Hat Makers: After you’ve enjoyed excellent sound quality, you want to be able to cover up that hat head from your headphones. American Hat Makers does that beautifully with handmade leather hats with impeccable details. I had the opportunity to try on a beautiful hat made with leather, lace and a corseted weave – sexy and sophisticated. The brand has styles that appeal whether you’re looking for a more subtle or head turning look.
The Blending Lab: I loved the Blending Lab as they are the only standalone winery tasting room in the heart of Los Angeles and their mission is to create perfect wine blends as they believe that wine blending is a true expression of science and art. The wines are also all made in Los Angeles and the brand offers classes as well as regular events for pairings and tastings.
Finally, I had a chance to relax and sit down in the “lounge in the lounge” created in partnership with Aly Daly and Timothy Oulton. Aly first gained international exposure for redesigning the 40,000 square foot former estate of Sydney Sheldon for Max and Lubov Azria which has been featured in Harpers Bazaar, Elle Decor, Vogue, C Magazine, LA Confidential, the Assouline book “American Designers at Home” and more; she was most recently showcased in Chic Metropolitan Magazine and in the Design Bureau Magazine issue featuring a collection of “The best interior design around the world.” Timothy Oulton is a British furniture and interiors company known for its distinctive leather finishes and unique designs spanning furniture, lighting and home accessories. The brand is driven by a passion for traditional handcraftsmanship and a fearless quest for innovation. This British style was evidenced throughout the created space including beautiful British themed throw pillows, the brands’ Axel coffee table, sofa and more. I couldn’t resist signing their Guest Book and had a blast hanging in their lush interior!
Guests included: Diplo, Jake Miller, Ally Brooke from Fifth Harmony, Drew Chadwick & Wesley Stromberg (Emblem 3) King (*Nominated for Best Urban Album), SOFI TUKKER (*NOMINATED Best Dance Recording), Ricky Whittle, Matty Cardarople, Laura Spencer, Kandi Burruss, and many more. Thank you GBK for another great experience!
