Housing works held its annual VIP shopping event for its fundraising initiative “Fashion For Action”. The soiree was attended by Chairman Thom Browne, Tony Award winner Anika Noni Rose, Patricia Clarkson, Alex McCord, Simon van Kempen, Richie Rich, Loris Diran, Malan Breton, to name a few. Guests enjoyed signature cocktails and hor’douvers as they placed bids on silent auction items. The Auction items were grouped and divided into categories ranging from fashionista to hipster.In addition to the auction there is a 3 day sample sale featuring pieces from designers like Marc Jacobs and Betsey Johnson as well as major retailers Target and Banana Republic. More than 100 brands participate in the annual event offering donated goods and services for the Housing Works Thrift shop as well as the silent auction.
The money raised throughout the event will benefit Housing works efforts to provide education, support and resources for individuals affected by HIV and Aids. The foundation also celebrates 2 decades of service to infected individuals and their families. Though the silent auction was a private event the sample sale held for three days only is open to the public.
