Hennessy V.S celebrated the launch of the new limited edition bottle. The bottle was created by critically-acclaimed, multi-disciplinary artist Ryan McGinness. The label is the latest in the cognac producer’s series of collaborations with internationally renowned artists, including KAWS, Futura, Os Gemêos and Shepard Fairey.
The party was held in the heart of the Meatpacking District at Highline Stages. The decor perfectly fits the illuminating theme of the night. Everything from the wall fixtures to the BOSCO photo booth, had the radiating fluorescent patterns to match the bottle.
DJ Mos and DJ Hudson provided the music as the audience continued to grow for the special evening. Guests, which included media, Hennessy lovers, and party-goers anxiously awaited for rapper 2 Chainz to perform. The Birthday Song rapper hit the stage during the last hour of the party for a hype 20-minute set where he performs a few of his hit songs and debuted a new track.
A few fun facts about the collaboration:
- The bottle reflects elements in Ryan’s ongoing body of work, ‘Black Holes,’ a radiating pattern in bright fluorescent colors that are illuminated when the bottle is placed under black light
- In addition to the 750ml bottle, a Hennessy Limited Edition Deluxe set will also be available for approximately $150, featuring two adaptations of the design by Ryan McGinness, in black and fluorescent colors on a black background. The set also includes a booklet, providing a special inside look at the collaboration, and three exclusive coasters designed by the artist.
- Bottles are available now for pre-sale online at Reserve Bar and will be on shelves at select wine and spirits retailers starting in August.
McGinness works in multiple mediums, including drawings, paintings, sculptures, prints, books, products, and installations. Known for using the visual language of public signage and contemporary symbology, he is credited with elevating the status of the icon to fine art. His works have been exhibited in museums around the world, including MOMA NYC, Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, MUSAC Spain, and the Misumi Collection, Japan. You can catch Ryan on the road as he embarks on a four-city tour with Hennessy over the next few months.
