It’s been a while since we last stopped by Haru
Our meal began with Guinea Pepper Ceviche, this light fress starter features octopus, shrimp, and bay scallops dressed in a tangy citrus ginger marinade.
Next we sampled the Cockles which in layman’s terms is simply saltwater clams The clams were prepared with a savory spring garlic dashi broth. I ordinarily steer clear of clams unless they are presented with tartar sauce but I couldn’t resist these little gems. The rich sweet garlic flavor worked well with the briny seawater flavor of the clam.
For the last appetizer we enjoyed the Charred Beef Tenderloin, juicy tender medallions of beef lightly charred and presented with a small salad of mizuna and daikon with togarashi vinaigrette. Sushi restaurants aren’t known for their meat selections but Haru’s beef tenderloins were absolutely delicious and well prepared.
In addition to the well prepared beef Haru presented us with a tasty lamb entree. The grilled lamb tenderloins are presented beautifully with a delightful pickled cucumber salad and white rice.
After the lamb we enjoyed another round of cocktails. This time around we tried the Black Sapphire, a smooth gin based cocktail of muddled black berries mixed with yuzu, Domaine de Canton Ginger and Bombay Sapphire premium gin.
No meal at Haru is complete without at least one of their scrumptious sushi rolls. We ended our evening with their version of surf and turf, the delectable Oscar Roll. The roll features beef tataki, snow crab, asparagus, lemon dressing
