The 2017 Awards Season is officially underway. Tonight is the 2017 Golden Globes. The stars are out in Beverly Hills this year, prepared to recognize the best in entertainment from the small screen to feature films. Some showed up their very best and others well, others just showed up. Here’s our list for Golden Globe’s best and Worst Dressed.
Best Dressed
Thandie Newton: One of our favorite Westworld stars Ms. Newton looks stunning in this floor length, off the shoulder white gown with sequin details.
Janelle Monae: Recording artist turned movie star Monae was a stunning figure on the red carpet in this unique leg-baring dress with sequined bodice.
Teresa Palmer: There was nothing scary about horror maven Palmer’s classic Hollywood gown. Velvet is red hot this season and this figure-hugging cap-sleeved gown is elegant and modern.
Millie Bobby Brown: Stranger Thing’s starlet Millie Bobby Brown looks like a seasoned pro in this fun age appropriate frock.
The Young Men of Stranger Things Cast (From left to right Caleb McLaughlin, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp and Gaten Matarazzo): This young quartet proves that style has no age. These young men look dashing from head to toe. We know a few adults that could take a tip or two from these handsome heroes.
Viola Davis- Viola is a vision in yellow. For the evening the star chose a gorgeous floor length golden sequined one shoulder gown. Her shoulder length bob and barely there makeup add to the sophistication of this stylish look.
Evan Rachel Wood- Ms. Wood stomps onto the red carpet ready to show that every girl doesn’t need a dress to feel beautiful. Her suit is tailored to flatter her figure and the oversized bow at the neckline adds femininity to the look. To keep is simple and classic Rachel opted for soft natural makeup and a carefully coiffed mane.
Sophia Vergara- The Modern Family star dazzles in a full length gown with metallic sequins. The cut out sleeves offer a peek of her bronzed skin and the sheer fabric adds the to the nude illusion offering subtle glimpses of her svelte figure.
Chrissy Teigan– Chrissy is a golden goddess in this delicate lace gown. The scalloped hem and peplum detail give the ensemble flirty feminine detail. For a pop of color Teigan chose to accent her look with a bold red lip.
Worst Dressed
Kerry Washington: In a rare misstep Mrs. Washington gives us kitchen sink chic in this audacious mess. The dress is sheer, patterned, embellished and wrong just wrong.
Sarah Jessica Parker-SJP has never been afraid of a fashion risk but this dress is a surprising fail for the beloved actress. The stiff overbearing fabric and those god awful sleeves are too much for the usually well polished star. The racoon-esque eye shadow makes her eyes pop so she looks just as shocked as we are by this bizarre dress choice.
Nicole Kidman– The lovely Ms. Kidman looks like she’s channeling her inner Moulin Rouge, unfortunately she’s about a decade and a half late. We called 2001 and even they don’t want this dress back.
Jill Soloway: It is apparent that this “Transparent” writer-director couldn’t be bothered to get dressed. She looks like she’s ready for a weekend of binge streaming and not an evening of star gazing.
Heidi Klum: The former Mrs. Seal is officially out of style.
Tiziana Rocca: The sleeves, the hem, the collar, oh the horror! Someone should get whacked for creating this waste of fabric and effort.
Jennie Mae: Is it melting? Is it lace? One thing is certain it is unattractive on our dear Jennie Mae. The peekaboo panel helps to break up the effects of this baffling fabric, but not much.
Anna Kendrick: Anna hits a sour note in this strange dress. Breasts should at least try to be symmetrical but it looks the band has broken up leftie has gone solo.
Tonight is a big night for all involved. Now that we’ve had our fun we wish all the nominees the best of luck! Check out our gallery below for more Red Carpet photos.
