As a brand Generic Surplus provides menswear with basic but stylish footwear. We caught a glimpse of the latest line a few short weeks ago via a fantastic cocktail party at NYC’S Blind Barber. The Blind Barber is a jewel in the east village. It is a fun speakeasy whose entryway resembles an old-fashioned barbershop. Its old-school charm made it the perfect venue for the line of fashionable basics. Guests enjoyed bite-sized snacks and premium Ketel one cocktails while reviewing the collection.
Among our favorite pieces in the collection were the assortment of cute smoking slippers. This simple slip-on can be worn with anything but are best worn with ankle-length slacks and a tailored blazer.
Unique sneakers are in huge supply these days and can sometimes be very juvenile. We adore the very grown up version served up by Generic Surplus. The smooth gold metallic is anything but childish.
Every wardrobe need a classic Oxford and this updated duo tone denim version is a great update. These work well with a great pair of Khakis or corduroy slacks.
