Influenced by the tropical tribal elements of the Galapagos islands Bastian presented a spirited collection of ready to wear pieces. The looks presented were mostly shown as layered ensembles. Jackets on top of button-down shirts over henleys over graphic tees. The array of colors and prints represented the lush landscape the tropics have to offer. The shapes offered to resemble survival gear, as cargo pants and soft leather sandals made their way down the catwalk. Of the accessories provided the standout start was the series of buckle free braided belts which tied to the side with ease.
Micheal Bastian is a master of layering. His layers combine texture as well as color in a delicate balance. This look for 2013 features a white graphic tee, yellow windbreaker and knit sports coat over white shorts.
Hoodies are popular any season and Bastian provides this tribal-inspired printed v-neck version is shown over a pair of camo print slim fit jeans.
Though summer is mostly a care-free season there will be the rare occasion where a proper jacket is needed, for Spring Bastian offers this plaid rendition. The rich colors add playfulness to this tailored sports coat. Though shown here with cargo shorts it can be dressed up with a well-fitting pair of chinos. A matching short pant is also available.
