From September 8th till 19th, 2010, G-Star RAW showed parts of its RAW Sustainable program at HRH The Prince of Wales’, ‘A Garden Party to Make a Difference,’ which was held in the private gardens of Clarence House, Lancaster House and Marlborough House in London. The RAW Sustainable program, comprising RAW Organic, RAW Nettle, RAW Recycled, and RAW Blend, demonstrates G-Star’s dedication to finding new ways to create luxury denim with minimum ecological impact. G-Star’s custom-built, wooden display hut housed an installation of sustainable clothing, along with a Nettle incubator and a demonstration of how G-Star continues to innovate in the areas of cotton-alternative fibers, whilst still retaining the G-Star RAW aesthetic. The wooden display house attracted a lot of visitors, including a special visit from HRH The Duchess of Cornwall.
‘A Garden Party to Make a Difference’ formed part of the ‘Start’ initiative and presented a diverse mix of disciplines – from fashion and music, to comedy, food and gardens – curated by a host of celebrity campaigners. The event was both exciting and fun, whilst also demonstrating the small steps that can be taken by all of us to build a more sustainable future.
The RAW Sustainable program premieres in stores from January 2011.
