After the intense mayhem we were asked to take our seats, and I was seated flawlessly behind Kelly Osbourne. Placed neatly on each seat was a runway look guide, a bottle of Evian and a G-Star Raw – NY Raw exclusive scarf looped to the right side of the wooden chair. The show took place in the back of the hefty size venue, and was designed to resemble a misty London fog boardwalk. The lights dimmed and the sound of lavish stilettos clicking in sync with concrete poured out the sound system. As the slender models walked the plank, the garments roared mind-blowing sophisticated tailored grunge. My eyes gazed as G-Star introduced the mob of fashionistas to the modern world of denim.
The collection of notable pieces included: jackets (moto, leather, trenches), color coated denim, jumpers (strapless, satin infused), herring trousers, cropped blazers, gorgeous flowing dresses, denim shirts, denim vests, cropped chinos, hoods, tanks, bathing suits, leather backpacks, and my new must have piece an astonishing white trench coat. The styling of each garment displayed the versatility of each customized piece, but maintained its signature color scheme with an array of blues, grey, white, khaki and the robust color of black. Attractive oxford shoes controlled the looks for the male models, but peep-toe heels demanded reverence from the ladies walking the plank. Overall G-Star gifted the audience with an amazing presentation of its SS/11 collection, and left the crowd in anticipation for what’s next!
Special thanks to Hennessy V.S. for providing us with a wonderful limo service to the G-Star Fashion Show and the complimentary limited edition Hennessy V.S G-Star Flask. Check out some of the stars with the flask.
