Fashion and music were live and in effect at the Shateria Moragne-El Front Row Couture fashion show at the Metropolitan Pavilion South Hall, courtesy of STYLE360, in the eclectic Chelsea area of New York City. The personal stylist and consultant turned fashion designer debut her first collection for spring/summer 2013. The show opened with platinum recording artist JoJo who performed her latest hit “Demonstrate”.
Following Jojo’s performance the show opened with the models strutting down the runway to RnB queen Mary J Blige “Back 2 Life” track followed by Rihanna “Where have you been” and Beyonce “Run the world” instrumentals. Immediately, I was hooked to the collection from the first outfit. The line presented a mix of urban streetwear and high-end glamour. Leather was the common trend throughout the collection in the form of pencil skirts, pants, tops, and dresses. Some of my favorite pieces were the military-inspired pleated jacket and the floor length leather gown that closed the show modeled by WE Tv’s Braxton Family Values, Tamar Braxton.
Celebrity Stylist, Misa Hylton served as creative director for the presentation and the audience was filled with celebrity onlookers like Angela Simmons, Nina Sky, Jessica White, Bridget Kelly, Antonique Smith, Ty Hunter and Love and Hip Hop Atlanta Ariane Davis.
