Four Season New York recently unveiled their new FIFTY7 3,200 square feet space. FIFTY7 took the place of the former Bar and L’Atelier Restaurant locations overlooking 58th Street. It’s exquisite, unique, and can be separated by two decorative sliding doors. There will also be two large built-in screens at both ends of the room allowing for digital broadcasts, while the existing windows and wall designs will be incorporated into the space in all of the rooms creating a symmetry and flow.
“The
FIFTY7 is part of a multi-phased refurbishment program that is inspired by IM Pei’s initial vision and brought to life by Ty Warner, the Hotel’s owner, renowned designer Pierre-Yves Rochon. This dramatic entrance is an homage to Pei’s large glass and metal pyramid structure at the Louvre in Paris. “The use of neutrals allows the flexibility of planning a variety of events within the space,” says Rochon.
I immediately thought of a Parisian vibe upon entering the elegant room. The decor was picturesque and fairytale like. We can mostly certainly see an many cocktail receptions and dinners being hosted at FIFTY7. The room can easily accommodate up to 200 guests. As a foodie, my favorite part was the a built-in show kitchen at the end of the room. I always love seeing the chefs in action.
As if this exciting news wasn’t enough, Mehdi Eftekari was just named the General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel New York. A 27-year veteran of Four Seasons, Eftekari originally joined the company as Food & Beverage Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills shortly after the property opened in 1988. In 1992 he relocated an hour south to become Hotel Manager of the former Four Seasons Hotel Newport Beach, and four years later was named General Manager. In 2004, Eftekari rejoined the Los Angeles hotel as General Manager, and from there headed cross-country to take the helm at East 57th Street on the edge of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. “I always told myself if I ever left California it would be for New York City,” says Eftakari. “When the opportunity presented itself, I raised my hand.”
Four Seasons New York is located at 57 E 57th St, New York, NY 10022
