Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial start of summer and service men and women have invaded NYC for Fleet Week. Some are visiting for the first time and others are returning home for the weekend. The annual tradition of fleet week is underway and what better way to celebrate than on the water. Circle Line Sight Seeing offers several tours around Manhattan. With tours starting at a mere $29, you can set sail around Manhattan, on one of their vessels and enjoy a picturesque view of the city. The tours include:
1. The Beast Speed Boat Ride: This 30 minute thrill ride is not for chickens. Prepare for top speed as the menacing looking speedboat races through the harbor. According to the website its not for those with weak hearts or fake hair so if you’re a wig-loving cardiac patient you may no be ready for this one.
2. The Liberty Cruise: Get up close and personal with Lady Liberty with this cruise. See her as never before and enjoy the opportunity to take some epic selfies for the gram.In addition to the Lady you can also get a glimpse of Ellis Island Historic Immigration Center.
3. Best of NYC Cruise: This is the big tour around the entire island of Manhattan. With this tour you see the most of the city as the boat glides by offering views of Grants Tomb, Randall’s Island and Yankee Stadium.
4. Harbour Lights Cruise: We took the cruise last week and it is a great way to end a hot date, or start one. This cruise offers a cash bar and views of the skyline just as the sun is setting and the city lights begin to shine. You can also mingle with the guests onboard as the circle line attracts visitors from all over the world. On our excursion, there were tourists from as far away as Scandanavia. One of the great things about this voyage is the photo ops. Not only do you get gorgeous hues from the dusk skyline, everyone get a chance to shoot a great shot of Lady Liberty without having to move from one side to the other. The captain steers around the statue to allow both sides a good view of the most photographed woman ever.
Whichever cruise you choose know that hte staff and crew are friendly respectful and knowledgeable.
