Evening Wear designer Farah Angsana knocked it out of the park with her Fall 2011 collection. Justin Timberlake may have brought sexy back, but, Farah definitely brought the 70s back. Angsana’s collection had that 70’s decadence with beautiful gowns that were glamorous and sexy. A number of pieces were heavily beaded and draped in sequins. There was enough sparkle and shine to make Ms. Diana Ross herself gasp in awe.
The show was entertaining with models fiercely strutting down the runways wearing luxurious furs and sleek gowns in rich reds, deep blues, and lavish chocolate browns. Models were poised in sexy feminine mini sequin dresses with the backs cut down to the derriere. We loved the floor-length gold sequin gown paired with a beautiful dark brown fur vest. The collection also spawned a few ladylike pieces such as satin belted evening coats with jeweled embellishments.
We liked that the makeup was minimal with a bold red lip because it allowed the designs to make a statement on their own. Angsana nearly received a standing ovation when the final dress to grace the runway was a gorgeous white beaded floor-length gown that had feathers draping from the bottom and was completed with a gray fur stole. The model looked nothing less than breathtaking.
This collection was feminine, glamorous, and definitely for the grown and sexy.
